Celebrate The New Broadway Plaza On September 1
“Party in the Plaza” celebrates the major renovation at Broadway Plaza that includes more than 50 new retailers, new parking, new finishes and refreshed outdoor amenities. In addition to an appearance from Pop Rocks featuring Mark McGrath, festivities will include a variety of musical and walk around entertainment, food trucks, a kid’s zone, and other specialty booths and activities from the event’s title sponsor, NYX Professional Makeup, and co-sponsors, Boudin, Diablo magazine, Gap, iHeart and the Walnut Creek Downtown. The event will wrap up with a spectacular fireworks finale.

More Ways to Celebrate
Leading up to the “Party in the Plaza”, local residents are invited to attend Broadway Plaza’s annual Summer Concert series. This fun, family-friendly tradition brings together great music, good company and fabulous retail. The series runs four consecutive Thursdays in August from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The remaining concert line-up includes: August 18 – Mustache Harbor and August 25 – Tainted Love.
Broadway Plaza shoppers are also invited to experience a special “Night of Thanks,” as the Plaza shows its appreciation to the community for its

Additionally, Broadway Plaza anchor Macy’s also underwent its own 57,000 square-foot expansion, with the redesigned 247,000 square-foot store debuting last November. The expanded and redesigned store now incorporates a new men’s department, which moved from a separate location at Broadway Plaza. The larger store also debuted with its renovated handbag floor; a new cosmetics department; new fine jewelry and fashion jewelry departments; new fine watch and fashion watch departments; new restrooms and more.

The major redevelopment of Broadway Plaza creates a modern destination in line with the appealing scale of downtown Walnut Creek. A new parking structure now offers four levels of parking on the Macy’s side and three new levels of parking on the Nordstrom side. The center now also features expanded walkways, new seating areas and a central plaza for hosting community events. The transformation continues during the holiday season and into the New Year as more exciting names and experiences will be introduced.
