Broadway Plaza Work Transformation Moves To Broadway Plaza Street

August 5, 2015
WALNUT CREEK, Calif., August 5, 2015 – As part of Broadway
Plaza’s ongoing transformation, the next phase of street improvements to
Broadway Plaza Street will begin August 9, 2015.

Broadway Plaza Street will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic so that the street can be narrowed and paved to add to the European-style, pedestrian appeal of the property. Sidewalks and crosswalks will be open for pedestrian traffic during this time.  Broadway Plaza Street is expected to re-open in November.

While Broadway Plaza Street is temporarily unavailable, plenty of parking is available at Broadway Plaza, including self-park options in both the Main Street and Nordstrom Parking Garages.  The drop-off location for Broadway Plaza’s Complimentary Valet will be moved from the Promenade to the Main Street Garage.

Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy’s and more than 35 retailers remain open.  The Reveal begins for the Broadway Plaza redevelopment with new retail and additional parking opening this November, plus the completion of the Macy’s store expansion and renovation.

“As progress continues on this exciting project, work is shifting to Broadway Plaza Street,” said Shelly Dress, Senior Manager, Property Management, Broadway Plaza.  “We hope the community will agree that the short-term changes are worth it as we put together a brand-new, sophisticated shopping experience for all of Walnut Creek.”

The master plan of the project includes demolishing and rebuilding the parking garages on South Broadway, the expansion of the Macy's for Women store, the remodel of the buildings on the East side of the property between Macy’s and Nordstrom, and improvements to traffic flow and pedestrian areas.
