Transformation Progresses At Broadway Plaza

January 15, 2015
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Jan. 15, 2015 – The exciting transformation continues to progress at Broadway Plaza, and shoppers will see more enhancements come online later this year.
Timed for the 2015 holiday season, Broadway Plaza will unveil the first set of significant enhancements at the property, including the opening of two new retail buildings as well as the South Broadway Parking Garage on the Macy’s side.  In addition, the Macy’s exterior and interior store renovations will be complete, along with other façade upgrades and street and hardscape improvements.
“We are looking forward to announcing a slate of exciting new retailers at the property this year in our ongoing effort to deliver memorable guest experiences at Broadway Plaza,” said Shelly Dress, senior property manager at Broadway Plaza.  “With many exciting improvements launching in 2015, Broadway Plaza will continue to reflect the charm and character of Walnut Creek and be a focal point for the entire community for years to come.”
As the center continues its transformation, the Macy's Parking Garage at Broadway Plaza is now closed to customers for renovation.  During this time and throughout construction, Broadway Plaza is offering Complimentary Valet Parking seven days a week.  Customers can access this complimentary service at the valet podium located on Broadway Plaza Street near the promenade fountain.  In addition, guests are encouraged to utilize the center's alternative parking garages – the new South Broadway Garage and the Main Street Garage - while they shop at Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and more than 35 retailers that are open.
The convenience and experience of guests is a high priority during these upgrades.  Roving Ambassadors are available throughout the property to ensure shoppers receive the service they have become accustomed to and deserve.  Broadway Plaza’s Roving Ambassadors travel throughout the center offering assistance with center information, wayfinding, gift card purchases and more.  Another great resource for Broadway Plaza guests is a fast, fun and effective text-based concierge that was introduced last year.  This service allows shoppers to ask nearly any question about the shopping center and beyond and get an immediate response.   Shoppers are currently using the service to make dinner reservations, ask renovation or parking questions, or even assist with locating specific stores and products.
The master plan of the project includes demolishing and rebuilding the parking garages on South Broadway, the expansion of the Macy's for Women store, the remodel of the buildings on the East side of the property between Macy’s and Nordstrom, and improvements to traffic flow and pedestrian areas.
